It’s become my day off. I so rarely get time to just relax and chill out with The Man, so when he suggested we veg out together, I made the call to enjoy the day for what it is. I can jump right back on the exercise wagon tomorrow.
As far as food has gone, we took a little trip out to visit The Man’s parents, and I ate most of my day’s calories there. That’s what happens when you’ve got an Italian mother-in-law 🙂 The Man’s mom is really into these nut-based crackers by Blue Diamond lately, and she and I snacked on those and hummus, with a slice of swiss cheese on the side. The Man’s dad loves to brew me coffee (for some reason he got it in his head that I adore coffee…not really, but I like to indulge him), so I drank a couple of cups of that. Lunch was a thin slice of meatloaf and some egg noodles. I recorded more than I actually ate when tracking on LoseIt, just because it felt like their calorie count was a bit off. So far I’m at around 850 calories for the day, so I might have some soup later if I get the nibbles.
The most exciting part of my day so far was taking a little virtual field trip to Vitacost.com, one of my favorite websites. If you’re interested in buying supplements or looking up vegan/vegetarian foods or beauty products, it’s such a great site to utilize. As a marketer, I have to say that their overall branding and site design isn’t that great, but the site usability is top notch. It’s really easy to cull out all of the options you don’t want, say if you’re looking for gluten-free or animal-free products and want to cut out all of the others.
During today’s trip to Vitacost, I bought a few things I’ve been thinking about buying for awhile now: a daily multivitamin, probiotics, Vitamin D (in liquid form, as advised by my chiropractor/nutritionist), some plant-based protein for my morning smoothies, raspberry ketones (apparently Dr. Oz is a fan, so I figured why the hell not), and some Coleus Forskolii supplements. Everything in that list is related to my diet in some way. I have a good idea that since most of my overeating is in direct relation to energy and/or mood shifts during the day, if I can make sure that I’ve got the right nutrients in my body, that might help me get a leg up on this and stop overeating to medicate. Plus, the raspberry ketones and Coleus Forskolii are natural supplements used for regulating metabolism and burning fat. We’ll see what happens.
