The Surest Way

It seems that the surest way to feel alone is to share my feelings with other people. I keep making the mistake of believing that other people are on my page, just because they say things in a way that I can understand and get behind. Typically, I’m the quiet one who lets everyone else do the talking, so it’s easy to feel like we’re vibing when I’m supporting their mental breakdowns and accepting their searching statements. But then it comes time for me to talk, and it turns out they’re not listening. Way to go, me. Always the bridesmaid, or something like that.

Anyway, I do have a couple of people in my life who are doing their best to listen when I talk (and vice versa), but it’s always disappointing to weed out the others. But what can you do besides remind yourself that the goal is to be your own mentally healthy sounding board one day?

Still, I can’t help but be disappointed. I just wanted someone to celebrate with, and it got turned around quicker than I could write a second sentence. Way to kill the buzz.

Aw hun. That feeling is my best friend. It longs for something that seems like, we can’t have. For me at least.

    *hugs*

Well, you can always talk aloud to yourself!

Talking aloud is the best way to learn, to grow and move on! It expands your thinking and makes you more creative!

I did a lot of research on the subject!

So, your not crazy if you talk aloud to yourself. Only if you do it around people who might think you’re crazy!

Oh, I totally talk to myself (and my cats). Sometimes you need to talk to someone who really gets you, you know? 😀

Yes.! Your cats probably ‘get you’ more than most of your followers! 😸

The uniformed say that cats only pick up on the sound of your voice, and not necessarily words. I’ve been living with these little furry aliens for long enough now to sincerely doubt that, though. All three answer to their names, know whom I’m referring to, and follow somewhat complicated directions. And at the end of a sad evening, it’s the cats who come to try to smother me (sometimes literally) with love (and a furry butt to the face) when I’m feeling like no one’s listening. But then again, maybe they’re just trying to make me shut up for good, lol!

I think you need to break your paragraphs into smaller pieces so that the readers can catch their breath, so to speak!

We all need variety, change of pace and emphasis you know!

What do you look for when you read a post? Paragraphs that ramble on forever?

You can not admire and relish the beautiful flowers and varieties of trees if all you see is the forest!
