This post is in answer to January’s Monthly Peace Challenge, over at Everyday Gurus. I’m coming in a little late with this one, but hey, better late than never, right?
This month, participating Bloggers for Peace were challenged to explore (and express) the one thought that they would be focusing on to bring more peace. One of my biggest troubles in life has been not living up to my fullest potential. I make a big show of trying new things and being open to exploration and playfulness, but when it comes down to it, many days I’m just reacting to the world around me. I’m adrift, and definitely not mindful of the fact that THIS is IT.
With that in mind, my thought for the year is “This is the Journey.” I’m not storing up and planning for a journey I will one day be taking – I’m already on the path. There’s no time to try to get things perfect; I can’t afford to waste another second just dreaming about the way things will be one day. One day is here. The journey is NOW. Essentially, even though I’m planning for my walk on The Camino, the road that really matters is already stretched out in my heart. I’m on it, I’m walking it, and the trick is to make sure I stay surefooted and mindful of that path.
What thought would you like to make your own this year?
